I think the US Senate should be chosen by each state's legislatures, not voted on by popular vote.


Why?

This is how the founders indented it to be. The PEOPLE are represented by their HOUSE members. That STATE also needs representation of its own as well.

We need to repeal the 17th Amendment.

Could not agree more wholeheartedly. Senators are supposed to represent the STATES themselves as individual entities - the House of Representatives represent the citizens of the states.

Woodrow Wilson wrecked the foundation of this country. The 17th amendment wrecked federalism entirely and is how we wound up with power centralized in DC.

how can the STATE be distinguished from the people that form the state? Or do you mean the physical land? Like environmental protections?
