Diggs absolutely should come back….with the way the offense will probably be built next year he could have a career year.

He’s a RB, always the irony of unless you’re top 5 you’re not getting drafted until day 3. Day 3 projected guys should try to increase their draft stock by returning, but you’re an RB and you probably only have about 3-4 good years left in the tank.

RB is different from all of the other positions. Even if he had a "career year", it's unlikely he would be drafted in the 1st round. That's simply how devalued the position is in the NFL. Most reasonable best case scenario is that he has a really good year and is taken in the second round. But he endured another season of wear and tear to get to that point. Given that NFL teams are reluctant to give even the best RBs a big second contract, is it a better decision to just save that year of wear and tear, get on a roster (either as a mid-late round pick, or UDFA) and try to do the best you can with the "mileage" you have left?

The only way that scenario flips is if a guy like Diggs can earn a more lucrative NIL deal to return to college vs. what he could get as a late-round draft pick. At that point he's better monetizing the "mileage" he has left. Yes, that extra year in college may shorten his NFL career. But he's getting paid more for that extra year in college.

Idk he has good tape and rb have a much shorter expiration date i don’t think it’s worth the risk for him but idk, he could turn into atop 1-2 rounder
