i created some pretty unique rules on firewalls for chromebooks that forced users to vpn back to their home network or they wouldn't get any internet and send all the traffic out the firewall (mainly URL filtering for School Districts to be CIPA compliant) that's used pretty nationwide today.

if i bring it up to people in my sphere (network security in K12) they'd be like "oh that's cool we use that method that the manufacturer told us about."

well i told the manufacturer.


it's completely lost on my wife and 99% of the populace.
