Uhh yea they are lol.

There are mega differences between how the nfl, nba and mlb handle contracts. Even bigger differences in how they are handled in Europe

Do you think pro sports have a free market? Do you hate them for it? Should player A be able to sign a 5 year deal for 100 million, and then the very next year say, nah, I want out. I'm going to go to a different team who will pay me more or give me more playing time?

No, it doesn't work like that at all. Unmitigated free agency would be a disaster, but that's what we have created with college sports. It has nothing to do with hating a free market. It has everything to do with creating structure to preserve long-term viability of a league.
