I don't exactly know how the revenue sharing works on Youtube but you would think that they would make more money with people being able to watch it for free on Youtube than putting it behind a paywall.
I'd bet they only get half the viewers for the remainder of the season that they would have gotten had it remained free.

I think they knew full well what was going to happen and had this planned.
Not the best looks when in the same week you brag about giving massive bonuses to your producers.
