Got ahold of the new Peter Brown

Curiously, it has an interview w/Alistair Taylor, who as I wrote is barely mentioned in The Love You Make.

Also related to what I wrote before, Brown has no doubt as to his own status. As he says in the intro, "I was Brian's best friend".

Considering Epstein, Brown, G. Ellis were all homos (as is co-author Gaines) there is an ever present subtext to the book, adding an undertone to Taylor's "I was not as close to Brian as Peter was."

Those wearying of my Beatle book updates may get some relief soon. Thinking about taking a break from the subject -- getting kinda Beatled out.

I'm about 40% in. I'm unaware of what all is new info. It has a whole Neil Aspinall chapter - I assume that's new?!?!

The Magic Alex interview is crazy too.

nah. Barely getting started.

I've also just received in the mail "John Lennon In My Life" by Pete Shotton. The intro makes the claim that Pete thinks he spent more time with John than any other person.

It's an interesting hard copy - it's paperback but like the size of a magazine.
