I don't disagree with most of your post but he was bad on 3rd downs last year too, and fair or not, he is one of the highest paid DCs in the country and with that price tag comes the expectation of, at a bare minimum, middle of the road defense. Not one that's near the bottom in almost every defensive statistic there is.

I do think that our defense will look better next year no matter who the DC is, House included, but I really don't think House is the long term answer. To me, Kelly is going to see who is out there and if he can get a top tier DC this year House is gone. If not, House's contract is over after next season so go get someone then.

If House stays though no way we keep both the CB and Safety coaches one or both will have to go and likely trying to get a new d line coach. So in that sense is it worth getting all these new coaches if House stays and is canned next year, or do you just clean the whole damn thing out now?
