Keep in mind that if Orgeron turns down the d-line offer, then Jim Jeffcoat, Jackson's father, would likley be the next guy on our short-list.

Well, Sonny said he's the only candidate besides the La. Tech dline coach who could be the back up for Orgeron. (That's he's heard about, of course)

I think Miles knows that to ensure satisfaction in the fanbase, he'll have to make a big-time hire if Orgeron falls through...which leaves Jeffcoat.

I'd like to know the same thing. Him and Belowpar are the only ones I'd trust for the scoop.

true, but I still thing w have a decent shot at O.

I just wanted to point out that Jeffcoat would be a solid hire, and would prolly bring someone very special w/ him.

We're not hiring coaches based on who gave you a scoop at the reveille, kiddo.

For DL coach?

That's a huge stretch.

if VK is the hire he needs a guy with strong recruiting ties in an area because we're losing a lot with lane's exit

jeffcoat would have some serious ties in the Texas area

Jim Jeffcoat went to Arizona St and was a 1st round pick by Dallas in 1983. He was picked ahead of Dan Marino, though he did have over 100 career sacks in the NFL.

Isn't his son considered a strong Texas lean at this point?

Jim Jeffcoat was a baller!

Tough DL, and showed up in the big games.

Loved those Boys-Skins wars of old..Boys DL vs The Hogs
