You can carry a gallon of gas far easier than you can carry a gallon of electricity. It’s not because you can’t disable an ICE vehicle, it’s just far easier to control the distribution of electricity.

But I can put up a solar panel much easier than a gas refinery.

Look, I love a good conspiracy but this one just doesn't hold water IMO.

It is very cheap to get a 250 gallon tank to store gas. No refinery needed. I have 2 500 gallon tanks. One for Diesel and one for gas.

Both gas and electricity require distribution. Gas has a shelf life and if production ceases, stored gas will eventually be useless. You are right, to that extent.

The amount of equipment you would need to create and store electricity with an array of solar panels is much greater than a big tank to store gasoline. Gasoline can be transported in smaller tanks. You can’t bring electricity with you to refill another vehicle. Your gas vehicle doesn’t become useless for an hour while you refill.

As it stands, you have much greater freedom and capacity to deal with distribution interruptions relying on gasoline than you would an EV. The government prefers you to have less freedom so you rely on the government more. The government would rather you not have the freedom of a private vehicle at all and be forced to rely on mass transportation.
