Prefer (nice, full service) hotels when possible.
AirBNBs are alright but I find them much better when it's in a locale that a) has a lot of need for rental property (think 30A or similar) and/or b) have good management companies that run them and that do this all day every day (ie, not a one off manager or small management company).
They tend to go together. The competition forces properties to renovate, refresh, etc. and the management companies keep things moving smoothly, maintenance in order, etc.
