People here get conveniently selective when talking about this. No one on this fricking board has anything to say about “playing the best players” on offense. And you have some younger guys like Jackson, Holly, Markway and Anderson getting reps on a vet-heavy unit that happens to be dominating the FBS at the moment. Heard and Chester have played important snaps in SEC games this year, as well.

This problem is only on defense. It’s pretty obvious who the root of the problem is. It’s House and he’s about to be fired/let go. He runs a scheme that’s too complicated for college and he can’t teach it or adjust it to his players well enough to make it work consistently. We’ve all see it. Hell, we even have Whit Weeks on the record about this in an podcast interview, saying he was being taught the scheme and helped along by Speights just a few weeks ago.

That’s a problem. While it’s good that Speights is helping a younger teammate, the players shouldn’t have to figure it out for themselves like this, especially when Speights doesn’t seem to have the scheme mastered himself. It shouldn’t be this hard to get talented young players on the field before they are forced there due to injuries. This is just one of many reasons House is about to be let go.

It's also possible he isn't. You can't speak definitively and we have seen examples of the opposite like the oline last year. He's openly said he prefers seniority.
