’all have so much emotion build up through the game it’s so hilarious to watch yall bitch like a bunch of 2 year olds. Adjustments were made at half on both ends and North Texas had some open looks but made a ton of tough shots in the first half. They shot 31% from the field in the game and we have people bitching on here about them making 3s all game it’s comical. Let’s nit pick so we can bitch about this coach we don’t like because we are so emotionally invested in saying he’s not good and he sucks you find yourself rooting against your own school. It’s the saddest shite I’ve ever seen.

You can both be happy with the win and still recognize a HUGE issue. NTU shot 32%...and only lost by 4 to a team that shot 53%. The biggest reason was the volume of 3's. NTU made 12 (a season high). It was the same story yesterday with LSU significantly outshot Dayton (in FG%) but lost because they gave up a high volume of 3's and offensive rebounds.

I suspect once today's games are over LSU will close to, if not dead last in the nation in % of opponent's points from 3. They gave up 12 three's to Nichols. Some, myself included, said "Well, Nichols just had an uncharacteristically good night from deep". Then Dayton made 11 three's. Then NTU made 12. One game can be an anomaly. Three starts to become a trend.

It's unreasonable to expect LSU will continue to shoot this well from the field. No team can sustain that. At some point they MUST run teams off the 3 point line and get defensive rebounds. Dayton and NTU are not "bad" teams. But power conf. opponents are going to be much more physical inside.

Alt,

This is not directed at you. You're a very realistic fan and I do agree that we have to get better on the glass. I will say though, the more we abandon the 3 and take more high percentage shots, the more realistic shooting 50% a night becomes. The problem is, we keep teams in the game that shoot a high volume of 3's because they can shoot 30% and find themselves in the game still. Lots of adjustments to be made, but it's still very early in the year. No one should be throwing in the towel yet.
