They probably shouldn't have replaced an established standard with proprietary shite when users expect a universal system and hijacked people's text messages after they switched to Android.

They could have taken many paths but they chose the anti-competitive and anti-consumer one, and tried to pass it off as the "seamless" experience that users want. The problem is it's only seamless if you do what they want you to do.

But they didn’t replace anything, sms and mms was always there. RCS didn’t really have any traction til Google started doing it for themselves, so they didn’t replace it as iMessage was already going before that.

With how many ways there are too digital message someone, there isn’t a monopoly here. It’s just European authoritarian nanny state laws, kinda anti American free market. Wonder how many for this claim to be Conservative lol.
