I can relate from the cancer perspective. Two surgeries for oral cancer. Had my tongue removed for the second surgery. Can’t eat or drink anything as a result. It has been 4 years since my last surgery. Tube feeding’s four times a day. Constantly feels like I have a hand around my throat. Spend all day fighting not to choke on my own saliva. But I am still breathing so I am blessed in that regard. Cancer is no joke.

Lost my father to oropharyngeal cancer which started in his salivary gland. He treated with chemo and radiation, but refused to have his jaw removed and it eventually metastasized.
