So my Garmin is not able to use the M265 as apparently it runs both frequencies together, I thought you could choose which one. So I’ll have to go with a B175m it looks like.

What Garmin do you have? Mine was hooked to a 7612XSV, could select between low or high bands. If you have an XSV model it should be capable.
Non-XSV models will require a GSD “black box” to get 1kW output regardless.
