Mostly Water Dog with a good supplement of YouTube videos when I’d get stuck. Goldens handle pressure a lot differently than labs.
Make sure you get one from a good bloodline and stick to it. To me, a good hunting golden is the perfect dog. Sweet as can be in the house and smart machines in the marsh.

Golden Retriever.. female.. Not a hunting dog
She will be 6 months Sunday.. She stubborn/smart and still has a great deal of energy. One unexpected aspect of her personality is she will bow up to anything.. Big German Shepherd on one side and a big black lab on the other, both inside fences. She has never taken any gruff from either one even as a puppy. Wasn't expecting that..
