It definitely is. People were super disappointed he left for Miami, but there wasn’t overwhelming hatred toward him until he went to Bama.

Because so many want to revise history and act as if they turned on Saban the second he left LSU for some reason. I guess it adds to the mystique of the story, idk.

After he flirted with the Falcons in 2003, I think pretty much every LSU fan knew that Saban was on borrowed time in BR. Obviously we didn't like where it left us, but no sane person could fault him for leaving college for an NFL job, especially after Wayne gave him frick you money and frick you power to go to Miami.

In reality, the hate for him didn't start until he came back to college where we knew he was going to pick up where he left off at LSU and we had to play him every year.
