Good on them to say to heck with it.

That is how she has to learn, the hard way. She is not hungry enough.

Friend is 25. Graduated from a prestigious law school. F'ed around and didn't get her bar app in time for August sitting. Well then she was in no man's land. Had come back home but gone to out of state law school. Connections minimal. So she got a glimpse of no job hell. Had lunch with her and told her how I made a similar mistake at her age and to this day, it was one of those forks in the road that affected my life .

Well, I got her a job but she had to make the effort to apply, interview, and all that. Nothing was guaranteed. Had to let that hunger develop first. She's doing great in it and they will probably give her a raise soon. Lesson learned.

This is the majority of the problem IMO. Our poor people are 3x the size of average humans across the globe.
