Florida has always been a purple state that leans conservative. To say otherwise is to be willfully ignorant or just plain stupid.

Both of Florida's Senators were Democrats as recently as 2005.
Bill Nelson(D) held his Senate seat from 2001-2019.
Rick Scott won his gubernatorial campaigns by 1.1% in 2010 and 1.07% in 2014.
DeSantis won his first gubernatorial campaign by .4%
If a purple state is defined as "a US state where the Democratic and Republican parties have similar levels of support among voters."
Then Florida would have certainly qualified as purple.
