In the end, LVP is still just cheap vinyl floor. It is NOT hardwood. At all. If you're going to go with terrazzo, which sounds like a nice high end option, doing the rest with LVP just seems silly to me.
We went engineered hardwood (custom salvaged pecan) as it was recommended over solid hardwood for install over cement slab. From the surface there no difference between solid hardwood and engineered, they look the same and are treated the same as far as care over the years. Get a thicker layer of hardwood in your engineered material and it will live through several refiniahings.

Good info. We were pretty much in the hardwood camp but there's so much talk about LVP I didn't want to dismiss it right away. You are correct this is hopefully our forever home but if not we want the work we do to be an asset to the house.
