People thought the same thing about hippies back in the 60's. I'm not sure what area of the country you are in, but where I live men that dress like women are still looked upon as idiots and perverts, and are not treated as normal. The man that works hard to provide for his family is still considered the role model. Don't let a few freaks change your opinion on the entire country. People are really just testing how far they can take the whole idea that in America, you are free to do whatever the hell you want.
