Yes we had a very old team last year. Obviously when you have an old experienced team you’re not going to be able to run out a bunch of SEC experience the next year. But what you can do, and what Jay has done, is put together a super talented roster to reload instead of rebuild.

You aren’t interested in that answer though. You’re just interested in trolling during a bye week
okay your right but who are the players. Can you not talk shite and just answer questions? Hurd sucked until sec tourney. Skenes was literally the best pitcher in college before he got to lsu. He was the number one pick. We got somebody like this , this year?

Again, who will fill the 6/7 spots that are most likely open?

I did state until a hs kid proves himself , he dont count. I can sit here and say the kid who was all world in hs last year flopped(kling) his freshman season but i didnt. I was asking who is gonna step up?

The real answer is we don't have anyone until we do. I didnt know who we had like a hurd or a skenes transfering or a big incoming freshman like cam. But people gotta troll like bitches on here instead of just talking about what we got.

Lol he absolutely was not. He developed here.

Also Kling didn’t flop. He was hitting great early in the year, got hurt, took a little while to get right and got passed up by older players. He will be a stud. Bingham will be a stud. Frey will be a stud. Josh Pearson is back. Milazzo, Travinski and Neal are back.

The pitching is staff is deeper and more proven than it was last year. I suggest reading about them. Try the recruiting thread and the scrimmage threads for a start.

He was the best two way player.

Dollander was widely considered the best pitcher by a decent margin coming back.

By what metric? Skenes is a strikeout pitcher. In 2022 at Air Force he had 96 K. 70 pitchers had more strikeouts than him. Skenes ERA at Air Force was 2.73 before LSU. 40 pitchers had a better ERA.

Hell he was being recruited as a relief pitcher by other SEC schools before he came here.

That doesn’t mean that he isn’t the best pitcher we’ve ever had, and likely the beat college pitcher ever, but to act like he was the best ever before he came here is just revisionist history.

Here's your legit answer.

Pitching - it's impossible to replace Skenes. That part is obvious. We had issues with starting pitching and pen depth last year. We should not have that this year.

Hurd is in line to be a weekend starter. We got Bamas Friday night starter from the portal, as well as another Bama pitcher. We got gage jump from UCLA, who is a big time proven arm. We have another arm from Xavier. We have Cam Johnson who we had no business getting from HS. I'm leaving off contributors from this list as well. Clear enough picture?

So yes. We don't have Skenes, but we have guys more than capable of winning on Friday against anybody. And we should trot out a guy on Saturday and Sunday with Friday night stuff.

C - Travinski, Milazzo, Neal. Same as last season.

1B - Travinski, Jones, Frey.

2B - is wide open. Quite a few players will battle it out for this position.

3B - white. No explanation needed.

SS - transfer from S. Carolina is looking the part so far.

OF - Transfer from Arizona is a senior .300 hitter. He's proven. Kling, despite what you think, played really well before his injury. Pearson, we already know. There is also a lot of depth out here as well.
