It will take them some time to figure out the offense. In the first half, there was a five possession streak where Zion just sat in the corner and didn't touch the ball. I think that caused him to force a few things when he did get it.

In the second half, he did do a better job of hitting the offensive glass and that seemed to get himself going. In the fourth quarter, they completely changed how they were using him. He was operating in the high post with the other four players spacing. It worked wonderfully. It was great to watch.

Defensively, he was a half step late on two steals that would have been dunks and one monster block in the fourth quarter. That timing should improve after a few games.

This

I don't fully understand, given how good he is in that spot, why wouldn't even bother to make that a focal point for the 1st 3 quarters, but glad we finally went to it.

It just feels like other teams are very intentional about repeating their sets with their elite players over and over and over all game long. And obviously it was just 1 game, but even going back to last season, I don't feel like we do that. We do it in spurts, but not intentional enough IMO. For example, you never watch a game with Luka or Steph or Jokic and wonder why there was a 5 minute stretch where they touched the ball 2 times and just passed it and had no other involvement in the offense.
