Former Tiger Blaine McCorkle has Belhaven unbeaten in D3

Blaine was an offensive lineman in the late 90s. He bounced around small college football for a while and has been at Belhaven for five years, where he took over for Hal Mumme.
Mumme went 2-8 all four years he was there. After a 2-8 season of his own, McCorkle went 7-3, then 8-2 and now he's 7-0 and has already played the hardest teams on his schedule. Get this - they lead their conference in offense and defense and their closest game has been 22 points.
They will likely make the school's first ever playoff appearance. Oddly enough, their conference has never had a team finish the regular season unbeaten, so you have that in play as well.
Just thought I'd share some good news about a great Tiger!

I'm assuming he is Tim Johnson. Not bad numbers at all!
65/109
1161 yards
13TDs/3INTs
202 yards rushing
4TDs
You know I had to go look

I played OL/DL for the Blazers back in 2000-2001. We played @ the local HS fields back then. The program has come a long way and Coach McCorkle has done a phenomenal job! I met him last year and think the world of him.

I drove by their campus recently. The little 2500 seat stadium with the big video board in the end zone is really kind of cool. It's one of the nicer D3 stadiums. They are building a new softball stadium now that is supposed to be the class of D3. The softball coach has a heck of a baseball playing son - headed to LSU hopefully.

He's a good man. I got to meet him - his dad worked at Oxford High School (MS) with me for a few years. Being the only LSU fan in the sports department, we got to talking a lot. Sadly, he wasn't exactly around for too many great LSU games.
