I have my cash in the above account. It’s drawing an even 5%. I am a bungling idiot about investing so I am parking everything other than what I have in some IRAs and insurance policies here.
So with the doom and gloom being spoken about, how safe is cash parked here? It’s insured to 250K per depositor so between me and my wife we are covered to 500K. I don’t want to think about that case. Are AAA accounts safe?
Or should I divest it to multiple banks?
I know for some of you this is a stupid question but I don’t really know.

What happens if they can't fulfill that obligation?

I still stand by USFR as the go to place to put all cash like this. And it's paying 5.5%.

AAA accounts are fine. MS has 2 banks to work with so bt you and your wife 1MM qualifies for the preferred savings. it's safe and insured by the FDIC.

Invest in some proper tail risk hedge funds.
