Think hard about Medical care and Hospitals before you consider moving to South or Southwest Mississippi.
I know people on here like to circle jerk about living in a small town (which I have no problems with, I would to if I didn't know the circumstances) but this is a real thing. My parents moved back to Lafayette after moving to rural Arkansas because my disabled stepfather had to drive 3 hours to Little Rock to see a specialist. Not to mention there are zero jobs in these areas, especially if you work in a white collar field and don't want to commute 3 hours a day.

If you are in or around Hattiesburg, there are docs in Hattiesburg, on the MS gulf coast (1 hr south) and in the NO area (1.5 hr south).

I would say being in the north part of the state is worse because you have to hope they have the docs you want in Jackson or Memphis and they don’t have a waiting list that makes the National Health in the UK blush.
