This isn't about McHenry. Seems like a decent man. This is about the stability and marketability of the Republican Party going into this next Presidential Election.

Republicans SUCK at marketing. The narrative will not be in our favor. We need to elect an actual speaker.

What's keeping the white house from dismissing subpoenas and impeachment inquiries as illegitimate with a temporary speaker that's given expanded powers by only part of the house? Maybe they still need to legally respond, but it will at a minimum be met with more delay tactics and lawsuits. All that our expense.
