It’s a honeymoon not a vacation.
This. When I married Mrs. Vader in ‘97, we went on a seven day cruise. But other than to go eat or leave the boat to go ashore at the stops for a little bit, we were in our cabin doing what it is newlywed couples do on their honeymoon.

In defense is the groom, he was happy to get her out for a full week. Then he could spend time with his girlfriend freely
I'll tell you how this argument went
He was starting a new job not long before the wedding. He didn't have leave saved up yet and/or had a bit of
Travel to training in the first few months and wants to be established before taking a full week off
He offered to bring her to Europe for their anniversary, again, after he was settled at work and had accrued leave, but for now, let's take a short trip to the beach. She wouldn't. She wanted a full week in Europe and wanted it now.
That's the story behind her overly thesaurused nonsense

The trip to Paris came 2 years later.

I married Mrs.SBD in '04, we spent our honeymoon in upper New England (VT, NH, ME) for a week. Saw the Maine coast(which was amazing), fell in love w/Vermont, and went to the top of Mt.Washington.
