This may be, like travel ball, another situation where SW LA and SE LA operate differently.
In SE LA, most of the private schools have terrible facilities, if they have sports facilities at all. They may have some better coaches, but those coaches have to put up with a lot of political BS inside the schools.
People go to the private schools here in SE LA because they want to go to the private schools, and yes, recruiting does happen.
hell no, st louis only private over here and they are still in trailers. im just talking in general
the recruiting and offering scholarship just levels the playing field for the private
parents dont want to pay for privates. they do it because they dont want their future college kid sitting by johnny blow hard who's future at best consist of being a helper in the trades. or next to Laquisha who wants to fight everyone etc etc
what im saying is even if they recruit and offer free tution....all that does is level the playing field.
people dont go to the publics in SELA and NOLA & BR specifically because they are dog shite. so people move to the AP, Northshore or they send to private school because the education is better
im a public school kid. 1 of my kids will go private, other 2 prolly public so im not being biased when i say this. the publics just need to do better when it comes to education, control in the classroom etc.
people dont pull their kids usually from public schools that are A+ schools that also have good athletics. they just dont. they pull them from schools full of shite heads. Up until covid Chalmette was considered an A school with awesome facilities. They shouldnt be losing anyone. Their coaches should be contacting the players in that district and showing them what they have to offer, both to the player and the parents. no excuse for them losing players to a school with shite facilities.
