When building, I had the builder put a switched box in the rear soffet of the home.

The box is capped with a simple cover.

I have 100 ft of this wire oeft over from another project, so I'd like to use it.

The carport is galvanized steel. I'd like to run 4 led lights that plug into outlets on an exterior switch.
Total draw is under 300 watts peak.

I would also like run two Smart led controllers. Draw is a total of 350 watts peak for both and the led strips.

Last outlet for a google nest mini. 35w peak draw.

Am I correct in that being 7 amps or so peak? Switch will basically be powering just the wifi controllers for the lights and the nest 99% of the time.

Assuming I want to put a ground fault between the soffit and exterior lighting, what would I need to add in?

Why do need a switch? Just wire your outlets direct in the box. I wouldn’t put a GFCI if the outlet is up on the roof. That would be a pain when it trips. You will need to put that wire in conduit too if it’s exposed.

Is there a dedicated breaker for that box?

I don't 100% need a switch for the exterior as the led lights and led strips are both smart lights.

But, the switch inside is meaningless as it will nevwr be flipped.

I’m not quite understanding, you want 4 lights and two WiFi controllers so 2 lights per controller? Any reason you can’t just put them on one switch? What’s the benefit of the WiFi?

ETA: any reason not to just make it easy and have them all on one circuit on the same switch? You can get switches that are both hard switches and have WiFi ability.

I have motion activated solar lights in my shed that could be used in a carport. I am thinking of buying a few more to use in the house if the SHTF and power is out.

The led strip lights are 100ft long. Each controller can handle 3 33ft strands. So, two controllers for 200ft.

Those will ring the entire carport and make a few passes through the middle. They are quite dim, so they are only useful for hidden ambient lighting in the c channel.

The lighting for actually lighting the carport with enough light to do anything will be on the waterproof external switch.

Basically, wire leaves plate in soffit. Via connector and street 90. Wire enters 2 gang box. Wire leaves box and hits T. Down to switch, up to T. Out to two or more LED shop lights.

Original 4 outlets power two controllers and google nest mini.

Waterproof switch powers shop lights.

Everything is in conduit.

The original switch inside should have been a dedicated circuit, unfortunately there was a miscommunication. While the interior switch is there, the switch is useless to me.
