Are there real Ranger fans here ? Or fans who despise the Astros ? Just curious.

Been a Rangers fan since my first trip to the Ballpark in Arlington when I was around 7 years old. Seeing Pudge and Palmeiro in person was a dream at the time!

There should be a few names you recognize if you looked on this board over the last few years.

Nolan Ryan was my favorite player when I was a kid. He was with the Rangers at that time. I had a whole binder full of Ryan cards. The Braves were the team everyone pulled for and I hated them just to be different I guess.

I moved to DFW back in 2009 and really got into the team. I used to go to a couple of games a month. I moved away in 2015, but I’ve kept up with the team. I got back to Arlington a couple times this year and saw some games. I’ve gotten my youngest son into the team. Seager is his favorite player.

The first baseball game (at any level) that I saw was Nolan’s 299th win. Went to Arlington with my old man when I was 7. George W. Bush owned the team. My aunt and uncle in Plano mailed me every single article and picture about him from the Dallas Morning News.

Shot my first deer when I was 8 wearing a Nolan t-shirt haha. Long story short, I’d take a hollow point in the gut for that baw.

My second favorite player growing up was Jose Canseco. The morning it was announced in the Monroe News Star that he had been traded to Texas, my mom got on the phone and bought tickets to go see his first game as a Ranger.

I could go on… I’m sure the point is made.

Got to pass on the love to my daughter this year with her first game in Arlington. She gets it.

Younger fan here, but grew up in the DFW area and been a Rangers fan since I started following sports. 2010-2011 teams were big parts of my childhood memories, and Adrian Beltre is my favorite Ranger of all time. I’ve probably been to 100 Ranger games. Even followed this team through the 100 loss seasons.
