What’s the thought about Senior shafts. 66 and still playing steel shafts, swing speed definitely lower than when irons were purchased. Carry a 5 handicap.

I recently switched.
If you are 80+ swing speed, you may not need senior flex.
Try a friend’s.

66 is not old brother.
If you are playing stiff flex at a 5hcp, you may want to just demo a regular flex but I wouldn't do a wholesale change until you are sure of the softer characteristics.
Or you can consider and demo some graphite which can have a softer feel.

Watch videos on people trying to duplicate the Autoflex shaft. Some are pretty eye opening. I have a driver shaft waiting for an experiment, and may add a ladies one.

still playing steel shafts,
they make steel senior shafts. are you asking about graphite shafts?
what is the flex of your current shafts?

I currently play reg flex in irons, stiff in driver, and senior flex in hybrid. It's more of a tempo thing than swing speed thing, for me. Point being, give em a try. You'll get use to them but may have to adjust your tempo a bit.

I ordered one of those Accra FX 3.0 140 M0 driver shafts to replicate the Autoflex. Did some testing with it on course and with a Trackman. I just didn't get the ball speed jumps that others did. It's a perfectly fine shaft, but it wasn't any better (or worse) than my Ventus TR Red 6S.

If you want to stay in steel, I suggest the Nippons (gteen label) in regular.
Graphite has a lot of really good options like the Fujikura Pro 80, MMT 80, KBS TGI and Recoil.
If you want a firmer profile then Steelfibers 80..
Fuji has the new Axioms, but can be expensive.
Keep you eye on the torque ratings.

Accra has great iron shafts as well.
