I get why he kept Reese as OC last year, although wasn’t a fan. He did good enough for Bama to come knocking. Freeman hasn’t a glaringly bad hire of the three coordinators he’s brought in.

Saban, Smart, and Dabo are X’s and O’s Coaches, students of the game. They never needed to rely on 4 and 5 star recruits to win like Coach Prime and Freeman do.
