They don't. They've tried political pressure, they've tried tolerating their rockets. It's taken things like the parading of a young woman's naked corpse, beheading babies and slaughtering innocent civilians to finally make them (and at least some of the world) realize that there's no way a 2-state solution exists with Gaza remaining in Palestinian hands.

They will invade, it's as inevitable as Thanos. Likely though, they'll lose their drive before finishing the job. There's already a bit of a "buffer" between Palestinian buildings and the armistice wall, they will likely just push that back a little further.

The sad and tragic truth is that groups like Hamas refuse to accept the existence of Israel at all, they certainly aren't going to take Israel pushing them into a more confined area. The only way this truly ends is if Israel completely expels (by killing or transporting out) every single Palestinian in Gaza then taking that area over as part of Israel.
