This is why it's so laughable when someone says "just sign up for twitter and search for videos."

Every conflict, it comes out that the majority of "combat footage" is from video games or previous events.

It is far from the majority but there always are a few videos from gaming and quite a few more from other conflicts or recycled from earlier in the conflict. At least with the Russo-Ukrainian war if the Tweet has enough views it will get people pointing out the frauds.

The combat footage subreddit is fairly good because they are good at weeding out game footage and also recycled footage the same way we call Germans very quickly on a repost. Just like Twitter accounts that post war footage from Ukraine it will take a moment to begin to discern who is being authentic and who is just trolling and developing a feel for the bias of each and applying that as a factor in determining how accurate the analysis is once the video has been more or less authenticated.
