How do you figure that Atlanta is the worst sports city in America? God damn you Cajuns are so fricking delusional about a fricking City you have never lived in

it goes back to the thread about cities with sports rivalries. I truly think that the New Orleans/Atlanta NFL rivalry is perpetuated by New Orleans folks more than anything. For some reason, the jealousy there is strong.

Atlanta is a great sports town for college and professional sports. It just so happens that it is such a popular city for folks to transplant to that we have people from all over. It's the city with the most Big Ten alumni, the most SEC alumni, etc. When the Thrashers were a thing, it was always cool to go to a game when they played a team from the northeast because their fans finally got a chance to see their team live. There are a ton of hockey fans in the metro area and I think it'll thrive this time around...especially if located in Alpharetta.

Speaking of locations, am I remembering correctly that the Phillips Arena/State Farm Arena extensive renovations makes it impossible to convert the floor to ice now, or am I making that up? If true, a new NHL team would have to build a new arena whether they want to or not.
