He didn’t.

They did follow through. McCarthy was forced to make a few rule changes and committed to doing things in order to get the votes.

Unfortunately, as you can see now, the good guys are too few. People like you are attacking Gaetz and the 8 at every turn. There was always going to have to be a negotiation and resulting deal. Gaetz and the 20 weren’t going to be able to get a better candidate. There’s just too many people like yourself in the Republican house.
