Now that the 2008 playoffs are almost out of the realm of possibility, let's look at who we can look forward to drafting this April.

1. Aaron Curry OLB/Wake Forest- One of the hardest hitters in college football, he is shooting up draft boards and has a projected 40 time of 4.62 (Unfckingreal). He has 95 tackles(14 TFL), 2.5 Sacks, 1 INT, and 2FF. This 4 year starter and playmaker is a BEAST!
Curry Big Hit, Big Play Curry vs Clemson 08 BIG GAME! INT TD Making Snead his BITCH Powercleaning HUUUUGE HIT Sack vs NC State

2. Peria Jerry DT/Ole Miss- This guy burst onto the scene this year and dominated Olines that stood in his way. He embarassed Herman Johnson and LSU's veteran Offensive Line and showed off his speed against Florida. With Sedrick Ellis and Kendrick Clancy as the only DTs that are surely returning to the Saints, Jerry would be a HUGE pickup if he isn't snagged in the top 10.

3. Taylor Mays FS/USC- Say what you will, this kid is a play maker. He is HUGE, FAST, PROVEN, and he and Roman Harper would be the hardest hitting safety tandem since Laron Landry/Sean Taylor days.
Mays vs Cal 08 Hard Hits on Arizona

4. Malcolm Jenkins CB/OSU- Shut-down corner opposite Porter for the long haul, can learn under Mckenzie for the time being. Jenkins 2007 Highlights Jenkins vs. Purdue 08

5. Brian Cushing OLB/USC- He is a linebacker...need i say more? I don't watch much USC ball but from what I have watched, Cushing has been a monster. The question is, is he fast enough? He is white, so we will just have to wait until pro day and combine times are released.
Cushing vs. Ohio St 08 FR-JR Highlights Showing off his speed as a Soph

6. Vontae Davis CB/ILL- Vernon Davis' brother will probably put up better numbers than Jenkins, though he is not as proven.
Davis vs. Penn St 08

7. William Moore FS/Missouri- He is 6-1 220-230 runs a 4.45-4.49 and has 79 tackles(5.5 for loss), 2 FF, 5 PBU, and 1 INT(Ret for TD) this season. Although he is the #2 FS in the draft, he has played SS most of his career.
2007 Highlights

8. Ray Maualuga LB/USC- We have Vilma, we will resign Vilma, depending on the new DC's scheme (God I hope Gibbs gets canned) I don't know if this is the smartest pick. Another playmaker though.
Maualuga vs Ohio St 08 Maualuga Fr-JR Highlights

9. Eugene Monroe OT/UVA- We could use A dominant tackle on our O-line because Stinchcomb and Brown just don't make anyone feel safe. Although Zach Strief has played lights out when his number has been called.
Monroe 08

10. Trevard Lindley CB/Kentucky- He is a reach as high as we will pick but this kid is fast as lightning and he is a ball hawk, oh yeah, at 6-0 he is just a bit taller than the 5-0 Jason David.

11. Alex Mack C/Cal- Not since Lecharles Bentley have we drafted an elite center. Well, Mack appears to be the better of he and Jonathon Luigs of Arkansas so i give him the nod. He could, no doubt, steal the crown of starting center from Jonathon "not as" Goodwin. (LOL)

12. Ciron Black OT/LSU- If he declares early, he will no doubt be near the top of the list of OTs taken in the draft. He doesn't have the size of Oher but he is VERY athletic, great footwork, and he has yet to show a weakness in any part of his game.
Dominating USC

13. Rashad Johnson S/BAMA- From Walk-on to 1st round pick in a year, if you don't know about him, go ask Jarret Lee. I bet he could tell you a little bit about this guy. He has more straight line speed and would be a project.

14. Alphonso Smith CB/Wake Forest- Playmaker. He would immediately push Porter for playing time, but he has Jason David type size at 5'9''
Smith vs. Clemson

15. Patrick Chung S/OREGON- The best strong safety in the draft in my opinion. If we can't get Curry, I'd hope that Payton has the sense to draft Chung and start him immediately. Chung has the power of an Olineman(click the link) and the speed of a Corner. He could start at either safety position although SS is his best suit.

Obviously someone like Michael Oher OT, Andre Smith OT, Michael Crabtree WR, Beanie Wells RB, Knowshon Moreno RB, Michael Johnson DE, etc.. would be huge upgrades at their positions but we didn't lose enough games to pick any of these guys up unless their combines are just flat-out shitty.

You might want to add Jason Smith/Ciron Black as OTs.

Yeah, I'm trying to find highlight tapes of them, I was going to add some more CBs since the position is stacked this year like alphonso smith and mike mickens but i figured I had the best up there, plus a sleeper in the kid from Kentucky

Too bad it'll be hard to take advantage of that since we don't have a second rounder.

We could theoretically trade down, but then I'd be worried we were gonna Brian "The Needle" Cushing.

I just don't see us taking a first round CB this year. We need depth badly, but we have to hope McKenzie can limp through another year.

Ha, I wouldn't subject Colt to the kind of fair-weather coach we have when it comes to Special Teams.

Fair-weather? You do realize that Taylor Mehlhaff missed an extra point and couldn't put it in the endzone to save his life?

I was just messin'. That Garrett Hartley kid impressed the hell out of me with the 47 yard FG into the wind yesterday, plus the touchbacks.

Pakulak has a great leg, but he outkicked his coverage a couple times and that didn't help in the return defense.

My take, part IV:

There are no good Safeties in free agency so that should be our first priority in the draft. It would be nice to get a LT, but there are a few of those in FA, so I say get Taylor Mays or W. Moore in the draft. (Would love to sign Jordan Gross away from Carolina and move Jamal Brown back to RT.)

MM, Porter and Gay are serviceable CB's, so I don't think we have the immediate need there.

Dunbar should play in Shanle's spot starting this week and take it over next year. Curry would be a great pick up, but Vilma, Fujita and Dunbar would be a good crew imo.

Late in the draft I'd like to see the Saints pick up Shonn Green to be the Brandon Jacobs type bruiser.

Not necessarily a draft topic, but SIGN VILMA NOW!!!

Pegues might be there in the third, which would be really good.

Dunbar has been on the practice squad and special teams for the majority of this year. Before crowning him a starter, you have to realize that there is no depth there. We need a Linebacker with prototypical size and speed with playmaking abilities. Even Vilma is undersized. Curry upgrades this LB corps dramatically!

Do we have that pick?

I've watched him since LSU lost out on signing him and he is stud. I would have liked to seen him stay at CB, but think he could play 3 to 4 years at CB and then move to safety like Antrel Rolle or Darrelle Revis.

We take either a RB or a saftey/LB in the first round, a FS if we have any brains.

1st round-Javon Ringer, RB Michigan State
2nd round-some good FS

I don't think we have that pick.

I don't think Ringer will grade out as a 1st round pick and people will be scared of the amount of carries he already has under his belt. Also, I don't think RB is our #1 concern as we can get Shonn Green, Donald Brown or Rashad Jennings with later picks.

Dunbar played really well against the Redskins when he started and one game was all anyone needed last year to declare PT an awesome player so I'm doing the same for Dunbar.

Waste of a pick for any number of reasons.
