Income based repayment is available to all borrowers and is 10% of annual income. Not a single borrower should be whining about their repayment plan. All it takes is a modicum of preparation.

Every day I’m more grateful that I never took college loans. Took me a hell of a lot longer than 4 years to graduate but 0 debt. The wife had roughly $15k left when the payments were paused and I kept paying them and they’re now down below $10k. I’m not in any particular hurry to pay it off but I’ll be happy when they’re gone. I didn’t want to pay them down below $10k when there was a chance of forgiveness. Didn’t believe it would get passed and I sure as hell wasn’t going to vote for it but I wasn’t going to get fricked paying for everyone else’s notes and not have the wife’s note “forgiven”.
