What's the big deal if he told people about this. Sounds like he wanted people to pray for tim and his family. That's actually showing love and support.

There’s a lot of ways that you can go about that without revealing specific details about what Wakefield is going through.
How about this:
“Please say a prayer for my friend and former teammate. It’s a personal matter, but Tim and his family could use a lot of support right now.”

It’s not about you. It’s the guys wishes. Doing this is about trying to make yourself feel better, not helping the person in pain. Was a shite move on Schilling’s part.
