Very relaxing trip. The water is warm but no waves. Feels more like a lagoon. Very laid back island. No cars just golf carts. We stayed at Casa Las Tortugas. Totally recommed. However it caught fire and were in the process of remodeling about 6 months ago when I last checked. The island is known for their lobster pizza. You will have a very relaxing time.

Take cash. Quite a few places are cash only and our hotel required cash to settle up at the end of our trip. It’s a great island.

It's OK. Isla Mujeres is where it's at though. Much better beaches.

Been to Isla Mujeres twice & loved it but just wanted to try something different & little more remote. We are staying at Villa Flamingo near Punta Mosquito. Wife & I are looking for a week of checking out away from internet, phones, hustle / bustle of the work grind & this island looked perfect.

You will be planning your return trip before you even leave to come home

How are the mosquitoes? That used to be the big drawback with Holbox.

By mosquito point they are horrendous

For the island overall Bring some bug spray for the evenings and you will be fine

No Sargasso on IM either. Though if you want tranquility and to get away from it all. The Rosario Islands, Colombia are the place to be. It's just so remote. The water is perfect. You can get a whole island to yourself with a chef on airbnb for less than an AI in most places.

Bumping this thread to ask about any fishing guides folks have used down there.

Online it is around $500, but I suspect if we ask while down there it will be $300.

Any advice/experience would be very much appreciated!
