Former slave traders of the north no longer needed them as they had plenty of immigrant families to exploit in their factories.
This is actually a good point. Also, the natives might have an argument for being taken advantage of first-half of 19th century around trading

Something like 50% of families in Mississippi and South Carolina owned at least 1 slave. Across the rebellion states as a whole, about 20% of families owned at least 1 slave.

Over 50% of the total populations of South Carolina and Mississippi were slaves. Slavery was everywhere. In South Carolina, some counties were >80% slaves.
In Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama, the slave populations as a % of total population was over 40%.

Slavery was much more common in the South than neo-Confederates would like to admit. My last name is so uncommon that it’s essentially one of a kind in the world. There are quite a few black Americans in 2023 with that same last name. We were blue collar Americans for the most part during that period.

Slaves were extremely expensive. A slave in 1800 could easily cost $1000. Much more than the average person even made in a year.
Then you had upkeep. Another adult human to feed, clothe, and house.
Only the wealthy owned slaves. Idiots like you spreading your revisionist history.
Most of the South was very poor. They could barely afford to feed themselves and their families.

I mean, technically, a president has no role in the constitutional amendment process. No signature is needed.
However, if you look at the original document in the archives, Lincoln did put his signature on resolution sending the amendment to the states.

Oh they got fricked hard on just about every agreement with the United States government but the current repayment to them is doing them zero favors.

You know how you can get a loan to a buy a car in 2023? Now translate that to the 1850s.
Did I just rock your world?
