On two occasions, at two different jobs, I was the only person in the vicinity of someone who was having a seizure while flat on their back. In both cases, I propped them up on their side and then called 911.
Can’t say for certain that they would have died, but both had lots of fluid/foam coming out of their mouth that they may have choked on.

Just jogged a memory of community service at the special olympics pool. I was shadowing a guy with downs and he was bobbing in and out of the water. He went down one time and after about 10 seconds hadn't come up so I went to check on him and he was having a seizure. Got him above water and brought him to the side of the pool.
