The “dominion” systems in LA are not connected to the internet. The cartridge containing votes is removed from the voting machine and uploaded on a system with the clerk of court of each parish and Secretary of State representatives present. The total number of votes uploaded on the computer must match the paper receipt printed by each individual voting machine that coincides with the cartridge. This system really does have many checks and balances and it’s very safe.

Paper ballots can be ripe with fraud. Did you watch the whole presentation about arizona? It was because of paper ballots being counted MULTIPLE times, no way to verify signature, etc. I’m all for secure elections and paper ballots are NOT the way to go

This.

I am sure there are always things we can do improve security, but paper ballots are not one of them.

Cheers to you for actually having knowledge of the subject matter. As far as Election Day voting goes, Louisiana has a few spots that need improvement but overall it’s efficient and relatively transparent. I can’t tell you how many times explanations of the paper trails fall on deaf ears. That being said, early voting is a bit harder to figure out and likely has more potential for tomfoolery.

The total number of votes is the only thing they check, they do not check to make sure that the total number for each candidate matches. The machines can be infiltrated easily and software can always be altered. Hand counted paper ballots are the least suspect way of corruption.

Multiple people counting the same ballots required to hit the same number before signing off on the tally. Everything has a paper trail and can be audited to see who did what. Record the folks who verified each vote. It doesn't take long. Votes can be tabulated the day of with ease if the counting process starts prior to poll closing.

Every ballot could be stamped with finger prints of the person voting as well. It's not a tough task. The machine counting is what brings about the corruption as there is no accountability and it can be manipulated to alter results.
