I'm gonna try to make this tl/dr:
I moved a heavy object on a dolly across a pad covering my wood floor. Apparently, one wheel carried more weight than the other. The floor has an 1/8 inch thick hardwood top, the rest is engineered. The dolly wheel left a very slight dent across the room. It's difficult to see unless you're looking for it and get in the proper light. I've seen some youtube videos where dents in wood flooring can be 'popped up' using an iron and wet rag. I haven't tried this. I don't want to possibly damage the floor further. Anybody tried this?
I'm wondering if there is any wood product, such as a wax, that could 'fill' the slight dent and blend in. Even if I use something that won't fill in, I'm just looking for options that would make it less noticeable.
No, I don't want to refinish the floors. Any thoughts and experiences would be appreciated.

The wet rag and iron works for spots for sure.

You will have to be careful not to screw up the finish.

I have steamed out a lot of dents in wood when building furniture. It generally works just take your time. It would be perfect if you had an extra scrap of your flooring to try it on. You could also try it in a corner of one of your closets.

Personally, I don’t think you can steam out a dent in a finished floor without ruining the finish, but I haven’t tried it on finished wood.

Moisture and a iron will work, but take your time and do it in 5 or 6 steps. The finish might fog due to moisture, but that should fade when humidity drops.
