I know this won't happen but if it did.
Would you have more respect for Miles?
Would the players gain More Respect for Their Coach? (Assuming MIles would say "We dont deserve a bowl game..." ect.ect.)
Without Refusing The Bowl How else could Miles re gain respect from playes and fans for this years performance. What say you.

I say the extra practice time alone is the only reason we need to accept ANY bowl bid.

It would be a great symbolic gesture. The seniors would all have heightened eligibility for all-star games, and they were all part of last year's team. However, as other posters have mentioned the extra weeks of practice (and with the Xmas and New Year's holidays, it works out to about 3 1/2 weeks for extra practice for the bowl to which we will be invited. Plus, as a member of the BCS conference which pioneered revenue sharing, we are probably contractually prohibited from declining a bid, particularly with 7 losses in a year where there may not be enough 6 win teams to fill all of the bowl bids (the danger of "Bowl Proliferation").

Miles is not going to get to make the call on if we go to a bowl.

The LSU Admin, AD, and TAF will make that call.

Good point. Since we've seen either no improvement or outright regression on the team during the year, is just getting off until spring camp better than drills, practice? I would say that the reps for the young QBs/CBs alone are worth whatever bad coaching they will have to unlearn. But still, you raised a good point.

There is absolutely NO Benefit whatsoever in my mind in punishing the players for something the coaches are responsible for in not preparing them to be successful in the first place.

Give me a break. Why would you turn down $$ for your program?

Also, how bad would it look to recruits that the program would bench an ENTIRE team for the mistakes of a few? And don't give me the bullshite that LSU would be better off not playing in the eyes of the recruits.

WOW.

LSU would lose all credibility and respect by not accepting. The bowl game is a reward. Not every team gets that chance. You think we're seeing a meltdown now? Wait until that happens.

there is no reason whatsoever to refuse a bowl bid if for no other reason than JJ's practice time.

This is probably the worst thing I have read on the rant. A symbolic gesture? To prove what?

To show that our fanbase is a bunch of spoiled bandwagon riding fricking babies?

Anybody who thinks this pathetic bunch deserves to go to a bowl game is a delusional idiot.

You're right. Let's petition the NCAA to give LSU's bowl bid to...Washington. They haven't won a game this year. Maybe it'll be lucky 13.
