Must Do’s in Vermont?

My wife booked a trip to Vermont in early October to get away from this Louisiana heat and to see the fall scenery up there. She booked an Airbnb in Jay Peak. Anyone been and care to share some sights or things to do that are must do’s? We’ve been to Portland, Maine and Mount Washington in New Hampshire but wanted to do something different around the area

Assuming you will have a car, where will you be driving in from?
It looks like Jay Peak is way up there, but Burlington isn’t too terribly far away, same with Stowe. Both have excellent restaurants and breweries.
Do you have your passports? Because you’re also going to be incredibly close to Canada.

Vermont Country store. Kissing bridges. Knancumungus highway into New Hampshire. A beautiful drive that time of year.

Download the GuideAlong app and pay for the Vermont Scenic Route 100 Byway trip. Its a GPS driven audio tour of that quaint stretch of North/South road through Vermont. Ive used it twice.
On the 100, stop at Ben and Jerrys, Cabot cheese, any of the cideries. There are restaurants and covered bridges all along the tour.
Visit Stowe. Its a really cool town.
If you drink hazy IPAs, youre in Mecca. If you like beer in general, drive over to Hill Farmstead in Greensboro.
Pick apples. Man, im telling you this was one of my favorite things to do in the fall. There are so many varieties that youve never even heard of. You pick them off the trellis and can eat them on the spot. Itll be cold enough that they are basically refrigerated.
Of all the places Ive been to, VT might be one of my favorites.

Flying into Logan and getting a car. We want to drive part of the way there the day we get there and stay somewhere between Boston and Jay. We have passports and talked about going into Canada just because we’ve never been
My wife mentioned going to Stowe so we will most likely go there one of the days.

Woodstock, VT a great small town to visit and is beautiful that time of year. It is on your way in from Boston and you can visit Quechee Gorge (165 ft deep)while you are right there. There's a short hike down the trail to get a look back up to the bridge that crosses the gorge. We got beautiful pictures at both places where we were up there several years ago. Both are a short drive off of the interstate. Look up covered bridges in that area, those are nice to see with a backdrop of autumn colors.

I’ll second Woodstock, and it’s a great midway point between Boston and where the OP will be headed.
Woodstock is my favorite place in Vermont to visit, we try to go at least once or twice a year.
