on the one hand..yea pay your debts....on the other frick the medical system right now.

We have really good health insurance and I was still floored how much it cost to have a kid in the hospital. We paid thousands in advance for what I thought was the brunt of it only to get smacked with about 6 grand in additional bills for the stay, the food and every little thing. The thing that I'm sure get's most people is hospital staff have to make quick decisions with vital implications...but all that costs extra. My wifes BP TANKED and they started putting this and that into her IV...it all cost a fortune but what was I gonna do decline it? ask how much it was gonna cost as she was bottoming out?

It was a ton to be hit with and annoying but at the end of the day we could pay it without much disruption...I can't imagine other families being hit with it who aren't as comfortable as we are.
