Don’t get a Chocolate, get a black. Chocolate’s reputation for being hardheaded and stubborn is completely true. If you want a lab, get the black. I had a black, yellow and now have a chocolate, I’ll never own one again…

We just put a deposit down on a yellow.

Very excited.

What has been your experience with yellows compared to black/brown?

Completely depends on the exact type. English vs American.

For the most part though yellows will always have a calmer demeanor than the other two.

Our yellow male was very driven and full of energy, but very skittish. He was scared to death of thunder and fireworks, granted, I didn't hunt with him. My wife was convinced he had doggy autism. I hunted with my black female, which nothing scared her.

But that was just him, I've seen yellows that were really good hunting dogs. Every dog can obviously be different.

Like I said in my previous thread, our current chocolate is friggin hardheaded, and does what ever she wants, until I put that electronic leash on her..

Another, they have these silver labs they're breading now, I was told they're dumb as shite.
