FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TAMPA, Fla. – During the month of August, U.S. Central Command, along with coalition and other partners, conducted a total of 36 D-ISIS operations, resulting in 7 ISIS operatives killed and 25 detained.

These operations showcase our enduring commitment to the lasting defeat of ISIS to preserve regional security and stability.

“Our partnership with the Iraqi Security Force and Syrian Democratic Forces continues to be focused on the defeat of ISIS and the enduring threat they present,” said Gen. Michael “Erik” Kurilla, CENTCOM commander. “Alongside our partners we remain committed to aggressively engaging with ISIS to provide security in both Iraq and Syria.”

We arent the greatest military machine the world has ever seen for nothing.

United States is so so so smart. Never show your hand, never boast. Let the weak countries parade sub-par machinery around to arouse their citizens.

How can the US defend Iraq’s borders but not it’s own?

Put our military at our own borders and the illegals stop.

Iraqi military has actually grown to be fairly competent since we left, although they struggled a lot at first. Cleaned house the last few years

I struggle with the question is it worthwhile to keep a few thousand US troops over there in harm's way to keep a lid on things that might eventually spill over or should we bring them all home?

Yep. My son spent June and July over there running Ops. They weren’t as busy this year as last but still saw plenty of action for a country out of the headlines.

Sounds like the Iraqis are fricking up by just hanging around Iraq. I’d they were smart, they’d just head for the Mexican border, walk across and get a free cellphone and bus ticket to New York City.

7 killed? That’s it? What happened to “we arrange the meeting, it’s up to God to figure out”.

We can easily sent Raytheon a couple hundred million and wipe out every village west of Baghdad.
